With the enthusiastic support of students around the globe, Achariya Doug Duncan Sensei has launched the Clear Sky project by establishing a meditation center in Western Canada: The Clear Sky Meditation & Study Center. The center is built on an existing property, and is now up and running with the aim of nurturing Dharma and students of Dharma for generations to come. Clear Sky will serve as a base for teaching and other Dharma activities for Sensei and his students in western North America, while providing a refuge for practitioners to engage in retreats under supportive conditions conducive to awakening.
After visiting and evaluating more than 30 potential properties in the region, Sensei and a small team of supporters discovered a property in June 2004 at Bull Mountain near Cranbrook, BC that was clearly meant for the purpose. Clear Sky Meditation & Study Center was born.
Clear Sky is still in its infancy, even as we throw open its doors to sentient beings wishing to bring Dharma into their lives. This endeavor is intended to benefit a broad range of Dharma practitioners—and as many as possible, now and into the future. In addition to serving as the central teaching and retreat facility for Doug Duncan Sensei and his students in western North America, Clear Sky will welcome other Dharma teachers to lead retreats and teaching at our center.
